Kandhamal, Feb 4: Police in Belghar have arrested two youths in connection with the abduction of a minor girl from Jhiripani village.
The accused have been identified as Nitesh Nayak (20) and Sushil Nayak (18), both residents of Jhiripani Badasahi.
The incident came to light after the victim’s father, Pachindra Nayak, filed a written complaint at Belghar police station. Following the complaint, police formed a special team and launched a search operation in Jhiripani forest.
While Sushil was arrested yesterday, Nitesh was apprehended today.

According to police sources, the minor girl had gone to a canal near her village for sanitation when the two accused abducted her and took her into the forest. There, they allegedly attempted to force physical contact. When the girl resisted, the accused tied her hands and legs, gagged her mouth with cloth, tore her clothes, and threatened to circulate a video to intimidate her.
Police said further investigation is underway, and the accused will be produced in court.
