Nayagarh, Feb 4: Tension gripped Belpada village under Gania police station in Nayagarh district after the body of a schoolboy, who was missing for past few days, was recovered from a well today.
The deceased, a 10‑year‑old fifth‑grade student of Belpada Primary School and son of Vijay Mallick, had gone missing after school hours. However, his body was found in a nearby well this morning.
On being informed, police reached the spot and seized the body for post-mortem.
Family members alleged that he was murdered and then dumped in the well. A written complaint was also filed at Gania police station, demanding swift investigation and arrest of the killer.
