Bhanjanagar, Feb 4: A fast-food vendor died after he was attacked by some unidentified persons following a minor argument at  Bhanjanagar area here late on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Harekrushna Swain of Bada Kodanda village.

According to reports, Harekrushna was standing near a neighbouring shop when two men confronted him over a trivial matter. The argument escalated, and one of the men slapped him forcefully on the head. Harekrushna collapsed unconscious on the spot.

Following the incident, his family members immediately rescued him and rushed him to Bhanjanagar Medical Centre. However, doctors pronounced him dead.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident, and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the accused.

The sudden death has shocked the local community, where Harekrushna was known for running a small fast-food business.
