Balasore, Jan 14: A tragic incident occurred in Chhalanti village under Jaleswar police station limits of Balasore district, where a two-month-old infant sustained severe burn injuries after accidentally falling into a fire.
According to reports, the family of Taran Hembram had lit a fire in the courtyard to keep warm amid the biting cold. While sitting near the fire, Taran’s wife was holding the baby. In a moment of negligence, the infant slipped from her arms and fell directly into the flames.
Family members rushed to rescue the child immediately, but by then, more than half of the baby’s body had been burned.
The critically injured infant was first taken to Basta Medical Center. As the condition worsened, doctors referred the child to Balasore District Medical Hospital for advanced treatment.
