Khordha, Mar 7: Panic gripped Jatani late Friday night after two crude bombs exploded at Padana Square, leaving three people injured, including a minor in critical condition.

According to reports, the incident followed a heated argument over caste remarks. In a fit of anger, a youth allegedly hurled two bombs, causing chaos in the area. While two individuals sustained minor injuries, a child was critically wounded. The minor was rushed to the district hospital and later referred to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for advanced treatment.

The explosions triggered outrage among local residents, who staged a protest demanding immediate arrest of the accused.

Upon receiving information, Jatani police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the incident, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the accused.

The incident has raised concerns about rising tensions and the use of crude explosives in local disputes. Residents have urged stricter policing and swift justice to prevent recurrence of such violent acts.
