Bhubaneswar, Mar 7: Three persons were killed after the motorcycle they were travelling in was hit by a speeding Hyva near Anantapur Square under Pahala police station limits.
According to reports, the collision was so violent that all the three victims died on the spot.
Local residents, shocked by the incident, immediately alerted the police.
Upo getting information, Pahala police rushed to the spot, and launched a probe into the incident. A case was registered and the bodies were sent to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar for post‑mortem examination.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be officially confirmed, though police sources indicated they were residents of nearby areas.
Following the incident, the truck driver reportedly fled the scene and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend him, said a senior police official.
