Argus News - Speeding Truck Hits Scooter, Three Killed Near Dhenkanal’s Gobindapur

Dhenkanal, Nov 28: Three persons were killed after they were hit by a speeding truck near Gobindapur in Dhenkanal district.

The identities of the deceased persons were not known immediately.

According to reports, the incident occurred when a truck collided with a scooter on which the victims were travelling.

Following the incident, all three individuals died instantly at the accident site due to the impact.

Later, on being informed, police rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation. The bodies were sent for post-mortem examination, and efforts are underway to establish the identities of the deceased and inform their families.

Dhenkanal district has witnessed several fatal accidents in recent months. Just earlier this November, another bus-truck collision near Parajang, Kamakhyanagar left four people critically injured. These repeated incidents highlight the dangers posed by speeding heavy vehicles on Odisha’s highways.

Officials have initiated a case and are examining whether reckless driving or negligence was involved. The truck driver’s role is under scrutiny, and further details are expected once the investigation progresses.
