The directive aims to safeguard students from the harsh weather conditions, which have made daytime activities increasingly difficult.

With the mercury rising to dangerous levels, authorities have emphasised the importance of minimizing exposure to the sun, particularly for young children.

While regular classes will remain suspended during this period, the District Collector has issued special instructions regarding supplementary examinations.

To ensure that academic schedules are not severely disrupted, schools have been directed to conduct these exams between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM, when temperatures are relatively lower. This measure is intended to balance academic requirements with student safety.

The district administration has also urged citizens to take precautionary steps, including staying hydrated, avoiding outdoor activities during peak hours, and ensuring proper ventilation at home. Health officials continue to monitor the situation closely, and further advisories may be issued if the heatwave persists.
