Bhubaneswar, Nov 19: Bhubaneswar is set to introduce a unique initiative aimed at promoting road safety and responsible driving behaviour. A Road Accident Clock will soon be installed at AG Square, one of the city’s busiest intersections, as part of a broader awareness campaign to highlight the frequency and impact of road mishaps.

The proposed installation is designed to serve as a visual reminder of the toll road accidents take on human lives. It will display real-time or symbolic data related to road accidents, encouraging commuters to adopt safer practices on the road.

The video wall is expected to display safety messages, statistics, and educational content to further engage the public.

A techno-commercial proposal for a video wall has been received from Adsoft Technology Ltd, while the Transport Joint Director has asked the Smart City authorities to proceed after consulting the Transport Commissioner.

Authorities hope that this innovative approach will not only raise awareness but also inspire citizens to adopt safer practices on the road.

Once operational, the Road Accident Clock is expected to become a landmark symbol of Bhubaneswar’s commitment to reducing traffic fatalities and promoting civic responsibility.
