Puri, Nov 19: A serious allegation has emerged from the Charichhak Health Centre in Odisha’s Puri district, where a 41-year-old woman reportedly died due to alleged medical negligence during childbirth.
The deceased, identified as Lakshmipriya Ojha from Fakirsahi under the Kakatpur constituency, was admitted to the health centre on Tuesday afternoon after experiencing labor pains.
Her husband, Pitabas Ojha, claimed that despite repeated pleas, the attending gynecologist, Dr. Sarojalakshmi Das, failed to respond adequately and neglected timely medical intervention.
As a result, Lakshmipriya tragically passed away during treatment. When approached by media, Dr. Das denied any wrongdoing, stating that there was no negligence on her part and that she had followed proper procedures.
However, her response reportedly failed to satisfy the grieving family and local residents. This is not the first time Dr. Das has faced such accusations.
