Cuttack, March 20: Vigilance officials have arrested Srikant Rao, Assistant Director of the Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA), on bribe charges.

According to reports, Rao had demanded Rs 30,000 to facilitate the release of pending funds for the installation of a solar power plant at Valmiki in Cuttack district. Acting on a complaint, Vigilance sleuths set up a trap and apprehended the official while he was accepting part of the demanded amount.
The bribe money was seized during the operation, and further investigation is underway to determine if Rao was involved in similar corrupt practices.
Officials stated that strict action will be taken against those misusing their position for personal gain.
