Mayurbhanj, Nov 20: In a significant breakthrough under the ongoing Operation Thandara, Odisha police foiled a major narcotics smuggling operation with the seizure of a large cache of ganja from a Scorpio SUV near Brahmanipali Chhak on the Bura-Arjunpur road.

According to reports, the vehicle was seized early this morning after it broke down due to a flat tire.

The suspicious circumstances prompted police to inspect the vehicle, during which they discovered a large quantity of ganja hidden inside.

Two individuals, reportedly from Chhattisgarh, have been detained in connection with the case.

The Bura-Arjunpur route has increasingly become a hotspot for illegal ganja trafficking, with multiple vehicles being caught in recent months.

The seized contraband is currently being weighed in the presence of a magistrate to determine the exact quantity.
