Argus News - One Killed, 15 Injured As Bus Overturns On Kalinga Ghati

Bhanjanagar, Nov 7: One person was killed while several others sustained injuries after a bus they were travelling in overturned on the treacherous Kalinga Ghati stretch, located along the Ganjam-Kandhamal border.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the bus was en route to Berhampur from Bargarh. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle lost control over the wheels and overturned on Kalinga Ghati. As a result, one person died while 15 others sustained injuries.

While the cause of the accident is yet to be officially confirmed, locals stated the vehicle may have lost control while navigating a sharp bend on the hilly terrain.

Soon after the incident, emergency services responded swiftly, and the injured were rushed to nearby health facilities in Bhanjanagar and Udayagiri.

Medical teams are currently attending to the victims, and efforts are underway to identify the deceased and notify their families.
