New Delhi, March 13: The grand cultural extravaganza Odisha Parba 2026 commenced today at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi, drawing thousands of visitors eager to experience the essence of Odisha’s rich heritage.
Organised by Odia Samaj, the festival promises a vibrant showcase of art, music, dance, literature, and cuisine.
The festival will feature 45 food stalls offering authentic Odia delicacies, alongside 25 handicraft stalls showcasing traditional artistry. A special attraction will be four stalls dedicated to Koraput coffee, giving visitors a taste of Odisha’s unique flavour.
At the Gyan Mandapam, thematic discussion sessions will be held under titles such as Dharma Odisha, Swad Odisha, Navachetana, Bhasha Odisha, Hasta Shilpa Odisha, and Atithya Odisha.
Topics will include AI technology, the National Education Policy, tribal languages, self-reliance through identity, and inspiring stories like that of freedom fighter Parbati Giri. Exhibits will also highlight Odisha’s spiritual and cultural legacy, including Mahima Buddhist traditions and historical narratives.

Art and craft exhibitions will display the intricate carvings of the Konark temple and the famous Pattachitra paintings, reflecting Odisha’s timeless creativity. Cultural performances such as Shankhadhwani, Ranapa, Sahijata, Paika dance, and tribal dances will be major attractions, bringing Odisha’s folk traditions to life on stage.
The event will be graced by prominent dignitaries including Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, among others. Their presence underscores the national importance of Odisha’s cultural identity.
