Bhubaneswar/Chennai, Oct 17: A man wanted for a brutal murder in Chennai was apprehended at Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport after evading arrest for months.
The accused, identified as Bheramani Kumar, was the prime suspect in a gruesome killing that took place in Chennai in 2023.
According to reports, Bheramani had fled to Singapore following the crime. Upon his return to India via a flight from Singapore, immigration officials at Bhubaneswar airport flagged his passport during routine checks and discovered an active criminal case against him.
A Lookout Circular had already been issued in connection with the murder.

✨Acting swiftly, immigration authorities detained Bheramani and alerted the Chennai police. He was held in custody by airport police.
Bheramani is accused of conspiring with accomplices to murder a close friend in a particularly brutal manner. The case had remained unsolved for months as the accused had gone underground, evading arrest.
The arrest marks a breakthrough in the investigation and highlights the effectiveness of coordinated efforts between immigration and law enforcement agencies.
