Argus News - Man, Grandson Critical In Attack Over Past Enmity

Pipili, Apr 3: A 50-year-old man and his 16-year-old grandson sustained critical injuries in an attack over past enmity in Anantpur village under Panidola Panchayat of Pipili block.

The victims, identified as Radhamohan Mohanty and his grandson Satyaprakash Mohanty, were first rushed to Pipili Hospital and later shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar for treatment.

According to reports, the assault occurred late Thursday evening when tensions from an earlier quarrel escalated into a coordinated attack. Both Radhamohan and his grandson sustained serious injuries during the assault.

Satyaprakash, a Class 10 student, was reportedly caught in the violence while accompanying his grandfather.

Although no formal complaint has yet been lodged at the Pipili police station, authorities have taken precautionary measures to prevent further unrest.

Pipili police officials confirmed that patrols and raids are being conducted in sensitive areas to maintain peace and order.

The incident has sparked concern among residents of Anantpur village, who fear that unresolved disputes could lead to further violence. Locals have urged both sides to exercise restraint and cooperate with law enforcement to restore calm.

Doctors at the Bhubaneswar hospital have described the condition of both victims as critical but stable.
