Argus News - Man Arrested for Killing Wife in Angul

Angul, Apr 18: A man has been arrested for allegedly killed his wife over a petty issue at Gadhimunda Village under Handapa police station in Angul district.

According to reports, the incident came to fore after the son of the deceased, identified as Raibari Dehuri, approached the police and lodge a complaint.

In the complaint, Raibari's son Suresh Dehuri alleged that his father, identified as Chakradhar Dehuri, allegedly attacked his mother with a sharp weapon, resulting in her death on the spot.

Acting upon the complaint, Handapa police along with the scientific team reached the spot and initiated a probe into the incident.

As a part of the investigation, the body was seized and sent to Angul hospital for post-mortem examination. Police have also seized the axe and other weapons used in the crime.

The police have also arrested the accused and is being interrogated. Further details awaited as probe is underway.
