Iron-Ore-Laden Truck Rams Into House, Family Escapes Unhurt

Ghatagaon, Oct 23: A family escaped unhurt after an iron-laden truck crashed into their house near Khunta Chhak on National Highway 20 under Ghatagaon police limits.

According to reports, the incident occurred when a 16-wheeled truck bearing registration number OD22Y 1591, allegedly driven under the influence of alcohol, lost control while attempting to switch lanes on a four-lane highway. The vehicle veered off the road, collided with a streetlight and divider, and ultimately rammed into a nearby residential house, causing significant structural damage.

Miraculously, the family members inside the house escaped unharmed, though the structure suffered extensive damage. Four rooms of the house were reportedly destroyed in the crash.

Local police have detained the driver and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

The incident has raised concerns over reckless driving and the safety of homes situated close to major highways.
