Nayagarh, Apr 19: In response to the intensifying summer heatwave, Nayagarh district administration has once again revised its decision regarding school schedules. Earlier, authorities had altered school timings to mitigate the impact of soaring temperatures. However, with conditions worsening, the District Collector announced fresh measures on Sunday, declaring holidays for all schools across the district.
According to the official order, schools will remain closed from April 20 to April 23. The decision applies to all educational institutions in Nayagarh, including government, private, and aided schools. The administration emphasized that the move was necessary to safeguard students from the severe heat conditions that have gripped the region.
Parents and teachers welcomed the decision, noting that children were finding it increasingly difficult to cope with the scorching afternoons. Several reports of students falling ill due to dehydration and heat exhaustion had prompted calls for urgent intervention.
