Rayagada, Mar 7: A five‑year‑old boy was found dead under shocking circumstances in Chatikana Station Sahi under Bishamkatak police station limits in Rayagada district this morning.

According to reports, Rishi’s uncle received a disturbing message from an unknown number on Friday evening. The message claimed that the child had been abducted and demanded Rs 4 lakh as ransom. The kidnappers warned that if the money was not paid by morning, the boy would be killed. They also threatened dire consequences if the matter was reported to police or outsiders.
Alarmed, the family began searching for the child. After several hours of frantic efforts, Rishi’s body was discovered behind their old residence. Preliminary findings suggest his throat had been slit, pointing to a brutal killing.
On being informed, Police reached the spot and seized the body for post‑mortem examination.
