Dhenkanal, Oct 19: An elderly man lost his life after being hit by a speeding train near Mathakaragola village along the newly constructed Anugul–Duburi railway line in Dhenkanal district.
The deceased has been identified as Gumani Behera, a resident of Mathakaragola village under Kamakhyanagar police limits.
According to reports, Gumani was crossing the railway tracks early this morning when he was hit by the speeding train. Following the incident, the elderly man died on the spot.
Upon receiving information, police rushed at the scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
