Subarnapur, Oct 19: Forest officials arrested a man for illegall possession and attempting to sell deer meat near Khadapura-Sulia road under the Ulunda forest range in Subarnapur district.
According to reports, the accused, identified as Arun Bhue from Tabalei village under Dhamma police limits in Sambalpur district, was caught with 2 kilograms of deer meat while travelling on a bicycle toward the Sagajuri area.
Based on credible inputs, a forest department team conducted a raid and intercepted the accused. On search, the officials seized the deer meat and took the accused into custody.
A case has been registered against Arun Bhue under relevant wildlife protection laws, and he has been produced in court.

Officials confirmed that the meat was intended for illegal sale, violating conservation regulations.
