Angul, Nov 12: A chaotic scene unfolded late Tuesday night in Balanda Market, Talcher, when a drunk truck driver lost control and rammed into multiple vehicles and property, causing widespread panic among locals.

According to reports, the truck, reportedly driven by a man under the influence of alcohol, first collided with two parked scooters in the market area.  The truck then crashed into the boundary wall of a house belonging to Kalia Deuri, a local resident of Balanda.

The impact also damaged an Innova car parked nearby.

Despite being confronted by police and locals, the driver continued to behave recklessly, creating further disturbance inside the market.

The entire sequence of events was captured on CCTV cameras, which are now being reviewed by authorities.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are expected to take legal action against the driver.

No injuries have been reported so far.

Residents of Balanda have expressed concern over the lack of enforcement against drunk driving and have urged authorities to ensure stricter monitoring in busy market zones.
