Argus News - Cuttack Baliyatra Under High Alert After Delhi Blast, 70-Platoon Force Deployed

Cuttack, Nov 11: In the aftermath of the recent blast near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station, the historic Baliyatra festival in Cuttack has been placed under high alert.

With extraordinary security arrangements implemented across the city and the fairgrounds, authorities have intensified checks at all entry and exit points of the city.

A massive deployment of security personnel has been made. Around 70 platoons of police force have been stationed at the venue.

Moreover, the fairgrounds have been divided into multiple sectors, each overseen by senior police officers to ensure seamless coordination and vigilance.

Special units including bomb disposal squads, sniffer dog teams, Quick Action Teams (QAT), and armed police personnel have been assigned to critical zones.

Cuttack DCP Rishikesh Khillari has formed a dedicated team named “Cuttack-60” and conducted a detailed briefing with its members earlier today.

Security checks have also been extended to hotels and lodges across the city. On Monday, the Director General of Police (DGP) visited the Bali Yatra grounds and reviewed the security setup and instructed the DCP to implement all precautionary measures without compromise.

Authorities have urged citizens to immediately report any suspicious individuals or activities to the nearest police assistance post within the Baliyatra premises.
