Cuttack, Sep 23: Taking disciplinary action against the custodial death at Choudwar Police Station in Cuttack, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has ordered the suspension of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Biswa Ranjan Sahu, who was in charge of the station at the time of the incident.
Sub-inspector Niranjan Goda and constable Kamal Lochan Majhi were earlier suspended in the case.
According to initial reports, the victim, identified as Rasananda Nayak, was detained in connection with a vehicle theft case. However, Nayak was transferred to SCB Medical College Hospital in a critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries.

✨While his family alleged physical assault and custodial abuse behind the death, official statements from the police department are still awaited.
The Chief Minister has emphasised a zero-tolerance approach to custodial misconduct and assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ensure justice is served.
