Ornaments To Be Shifted Back To Puri Ratna Bhandar, Public Darshan Suspended From 10 AM

Key Points

Devotees will be restricted from having darshan of Lord Jagannath, and his siblings-Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra at the Puri Shreemandir from 10 AM today.

Puri, Sep 23: Public darshan at Puri Shreemandir will remain suspended from 10 AM today as ornaments and other valuables of the temple, which have been kept in a temporary strongroom for over a year, will be shifted back to the renovated Ratna Bhandar today.

Following the transfer, the Nata Mandap and Jagamohan will be cleaned. During this time, devotees will not be able to have darshan of the deities. However, devotees can have Mahaprasad in the Anand Bazaar.

The SJTA has appealed for cooperation from devotees, emphasising the importance of the procedure in maintaining the sanctity and security of the temple’s treasured ornaments.

The darshan will resume once the shifting process is completed, said the SJTA.

Temple authorities have not specified an exact time for restoration but have assured that all efforts are being made to minimize inconvenience.

Notably, the ornaments were moved to the strongroom on the temple premises on July 14 last year for repair and conservation of the Ratna Bhandar.
