Malkangiri, Sep 25: In a late-night incident near Adapanka Bridge under Adava police limits, a container truck plunged into the Harabhangi River after the driver lost control over the wheels. Fortunately, the driver managed to escape unharmed.

According to reports, the container was en route from Rayagada district to Berhampur when the driver lost control over the wheels near Adapanka bridge.

Eyewitnesses reported that the driver initially climbed on top of the truck as it began to sink. Realising the vehicle was going deeper into the water, he jumped in, swam to the shore, and saved his life.

On being informed, police reached the scene and initiated an investigation.

Efforts are underway to retrieve the sunken vehicle and assess any environmental or structural impact caused by the accident.
