Malkangiri, Sep 25: At least three people had a narrow escape after their motorcycle caught fire between Chitrakonda and Papulur road in Malkangiri district.

According to reports, one Dhanurjaya Golari, of RSC-6 village under Doraguda Panchayat in Chitrakonda block, along with two of their relatives, were en route to Kurmanur village to attend a funeral ceremony. After covering approximately 15 kilometers, they noticed a burning smell emanating from the bike.

Sensing danger, they stopped the vehicle by the roadside to inspect it. Moments later, the motorcycle burst into flames.

Soon, police and fire services personnel rushed to the scene and doused the flames. The bike was completely burned and was removed from the spot.

Following the accident, traffic came to a standstill. Police have registered a case and launched a probe into the incident.
