Argus News - Car Hits Divider, Overturns In Odisha's Bargarh; Three Killed

Bargarh, Oct 17: Three people lost their lives while two others sustained serious injuries following an accident on Bargarh bypass along the National Highway late last night.

While the identities of the deceased persons were not known immediately, they are believed to be local residents of Bargarh.

According to reports, the car, carrying five occupants, lost control and rammed into the divider before flipping over.

While three of them died on the spot shortly after the incident, the remaining two, who were critically injured in the incident were hospitalised.

Bargarh Town Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Authorities are working to confirm the identities of the victims and determine the exact cause of the crash.

A case has also been registered and further probe into the incident is underway.

In yet another incident, vehicular movement came to a standstill on the Sunabeda stretch in Koraput district after a truck dashed into a railway overbridge.

According to reports, the truck rammed into the overbridge, dislodging iron components from the structure.

The debris fell onto the road, blocking the highway and forcing authorities to suspend traffic for safety reasons.

Emergency response teams and local police rushed to the spot to assess the damage and initiate clearance operations. No casualties have been reported so far, but the incident has caused significant disruption to commuters and transport services in the region.
