Rourkela, Mar 21: Panic gripped Tumkela area in Rourkela city after a severed human leg was recovered from a sewage tank in the area under the jurisdiction of Sector 15 police station.

The incident came to light in the Sector 16 area, where local residents noticed the severed leg in the sewage tank and alerted the authorities about the same.

Responding swiftly, Sector 15 police reached the scene and, with the assistance of the fire department, managed to extract the human remains from the tank.

The severed leg was immediately seized and sent for forensic examination.
