Koraput, Oct 19: A large boulder fell onto the rail line early Sunday morning, disrupting train services between Tabalsa and Kirandul.

According to reports, the incident occurred around 4 AM, when a rockslide from a nearby hill struck the tracks between Taida and Chipurupalli stations.

Among the affected was the Visakhapatnam–Jagdalpur passenger train, whihch was cancelled, leaving several passengers stranded.

Following the incident, a railway team quickly reached the site to assess the damage and begin the clearance operations.

Officials are working to restore the route and ensure safety before resuming train services. The railway line, which passes through hilly terrain, is prone to such disruptions, especially during seasonal weather shifts.

No injuries have been reported, and authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
