Argus News - Bomb Hurled at Former Sarpanch’s Residence in Puri, Two Held

Puri, Apr 17: Former sarpanch and his family members escaped a major mishap after two unidentified miscreants hurled bombs at the house of the former in Gop Panchayat under Gop block of Nimapada constituency, Puri district.

According to reports, two unidentified assailants arrived on a motorcycle late Thursday night and hurled two bombs at former sarpanch Sushant Swain's house. The loud explosions woke villagers and Swain’s elderly parents, who rushed outside in fear. However, both bombs missed their intended target and fell outside the house, causing minor damage but sparing the family from serious harm.

Following a complaint lodged by Sushant Swain, Gop police launched an investigation and detained two individuals for questioning.

While the motive behind the attack remains unknown, police are exploring multiple angles, including possible political rivalry or personal enmity.
