Bhadrak, Dec 4: A youth allegedly set his mother on fire after she refused to give him money for buying liquor. The shocking incident has come to light from Galagandapur village under Bilana Panchayat, Tihidi police station limits of Bhadrak district.
The accused has been identified as Debasis Nayak.
According to reports, On Thursday morning, Debasis, who is unemployed and an alcoholic, had asked his mother, Jyoshna Rani, to give him some money for liquor. When she refused, Debasis reportedly poured petrol on her and set her ablaze.
Local villagers rushed to her help and rescue the woman to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.

While the health condition of the victim remains critical,
Debasis, on the other hand, fled the scene, after the incident.
