Argus News - Four Arrested In Daspalla Youth’s Death Case, Mastermind Absconding

Nayagarh, Dec 3: Police on Wednesday cracked the mystery surrounding the death of a youth whose body was found abandoned along the roadside near Pankua Kalasakhman Ududa, with the arrest of four persons in connection with the case.

However, the alleged mastermind remains absconding.

According to police reports, on November 27, the victim, Hariatai of Chinapahada village under Pokhari Gocha Panchayat had gone to meet his girlfriend. Just 200 meters away from her house, he accidentally came in contact with an electric trap laid for hunting wild animals. He was electrocuted and died on the spot.

Witnessing the incident, his girlfriend rushed home and narrated the entire episode. Later, her family members along with local hunters reached the site. In an attempt to cover up their involvement, they carried the body on a motorcycle and abandoned it about 10 kilometers away, near the roadside at Pankua Kalasakhman Ududa.

Police investigation revealed the sequence of events, lead to the arrest of four accused. The prime accused, believed to be the mastermind behind the cover‑up, is still at large.
