Darshan Suspended / Baman Janma Ritual At Puri Srimandir Today; Temple To Remain Closed For Five Hours

Puri, Sept 4: On the auspicious occasion of Bhadra Shukla Dwadashi, the revered Baman Janma Niti will be observed at the Jagannath Temple in Puri today. Following the special rituals, temple will remain closed for five hours.
According to the temple administration, darshan will be halted for five hours—from 5 PM to 10 PM—following the midday Dhupa ritual.
The day began with Mahaprabhu’s independent niti, including the morning Dhupa and Bhogmandap offerings.
As part of the ceremonial observance, the deities underwent a sacred Mahasnan (ritual bath), followed by adornment with new clothes and sandalwood paste.
The Baman Janma Niti commemorates the birth of Lord Vamana from Aditi, and is traditionally held after the Dwiprahara Dhupa.

✨In a symbolic gesture, Madanmohan, representing Lord Jagannath, was ceremonially brought from the southern chamber to the Ratna Singhasana and then near the Ratna Bhandar. The Jay-Vijay gates were closed as the temple priests performed the ritual using a golden idol of Lord Vamana.
Alongside the Baman Janma celebration, the temple also host the sacred Paita Lagi and Indradhwaja Puja rituals.
