According to reports, the victim, identified as Tilottama Raut, reportedly poured kerosene over herself and set herself ablaze following a prolonged domestic dispute.
According to medical sources, nearly 70% of her body was burned in the incident.
The woman was initially rushed to Salepur Medical Center in critical condition and later transferred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced treatment.
Despite 48 hours of intensive care and efforts by medical professionals, Tilottama succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment.
Local police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
