Bhubaneswar, Nov 19: A technician working with Indian Air Force was on Wednesday arrested for allegedly cheating a woman after having physical relations with her under the promise of marriage.

The accused, identified as Golaka Bihari Dixit, was arrested by Badagada Police in Bhubaneswar.

According to reports, Dixit had developed a romantic relationship with the victim and allegedly engaged in a physical relationship with her after assuring her of marriage. However, he later distanced himself from her and began courting another woman.

The situation escalated when the first woman, feeling betrayed, approached the Badagada police station and lodged a formal complaint.

Based on her allegations, police launched an investigation and apprehended Dixit while he was reportedly with another woman.

While a case into the incident has been launched, police are continuing their investigation and have not ruled out the possibility of further legal action under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
