Jagatsinghpur, Feb 4: A man was found dead at his house at Nuapola area within Sadar police station in Jagatsinghpur district on
Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Nihar Ranjan Mohanty.
Hailing from Kendrapada district, Nihar worked in the Jagatsinghpur court as a court
staff and was staying in Nuapola area.
According to reports, Mohanty like everyday had completed
his household chores in the morning and was preparing to leave for office.
However, Nihar's wife discovered her husband's body from the ceiling of the
kitchen room and immediately alerted the neighbours.
Later, on being informed, police rushed to the spot and
initiated a probe into the incident. The body was seized and sent to a local
hospital for post-mortem.
A video has reportedly came forward where Nihar has alleged
workplace harassment.

Meanwhile, family members have also alleged that Mohanty had
been subjected to repeated harassment and ill-treatment at his workplace. His
wife claimed that he was often treated like a domestic help in the office and
had been mentally distressed for several days.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation
into the circumstances surrounding the incident. More details are awaited as
the probe is underway.
