Bhubaneswar, Oct 29: A major fire broke out at a house in the Niladri Vihar area of the city on Wednesday morning.
According to initial reports, the blaze caused by a suspected gas cylinder leak rapidly spread through the structure. On being informed, fire and rescue teams rushed to the scene and successfully evacuated individuals who were trapped inside the burning house.
Eyewitnesses reported thick smoke and intense heat as the blaze consumed the house.
Despite hours of firefighting efforts, the flames have not yet been fully contained. Fire personnel are continuing to battle the blaze as thick smoke billows from the site.
No casualties have been reported so far, but property damage is extensive.
