Argus News - Drugs Worth Over Rs 25 Lakh Seized At Bhubaneswar Airport

Bhubaneswar, Oct 21: Customs officials at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar have seized drugs worth over Rs 25 lakh and detained three persons in connection with the case.

According to reports, the contraband was reportedly smuggled in from Dubai and the suspects were intercepted during routine baggage screening.

Acting swiftly, the officials seized the substance, believed to be a premium-grade narcotic, concealed within luggage brought in by the suspects.

Preliminary investigations suggest that all three hail from the Mumbai region.

Officials are currently interrogating the suspects to uncover further details about the trafficking network and supply chain.

They are also trying to ascertain if Bhubaneswar was being used as one of the transit points for smuggling of the banned drug in a broader network.
