Sonepur, Nov 26: A man was killed after he was hit by a speeding truck early Wednesday morning in Sonepur district.
The deceased has been identified as Sarat Mahapatra of Kumarakeli village.
According to reports, Sarat was returning from Sonepur on his scooter when a truck approached from behind and rammed into him. The impact threw his scooter aside, but his hand got entangled in the truck’s bumper. Shockingly, the truck dragged him for nearly 150 meters before locals intervened.
Upon being intercepted, the driver then abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. Following the incident, Sarat succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
