Three Killed as Bolero Crashes Into Tanker on NH-16 in Cuttack

Cuttack, Nov 25: A deadly road accident on National Highway-16 near Rajakana Square claimed the lives of three people and left two others critically injured, a source said Tuesday.

According to the source, a Mahindra Bolero travelling from Jajpur towards Cuttack lost control and climbed onto the road divider before veering to the opposite side of the highway. The out-of-control vehicle then crashed into a passing tanker coming from the opposite direction.

The impact of the collision was severe, and three of the five occupants of the Bolero died on the spot. The two surviving passengers were rescued in critical condition and shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment, the source added.

After the crash, personnel from the National Highway maintenance team and Tangi Police reached the site and carried out the rescue operation. Both vehicles involved in the accident have been seized.

The identities of the deceased and the injured have not been confirmed yet. Tangi Police have begun further investigation into the cause of the accident.
