Basudevpur, Jan 11: A youth was killed in a road accident near Bideipur Chhak in Bhadrak's Basudevpur. The deceased has been identified as Abhisek Mahalik, a resident of Kerasahi locality.


According to reports, the incident occurred when the victim was returning home from his work. Meanwhile, a tractor hit him near the busy junction. Following this, Abhisek came under the wheels of the tractor.


Locals immediately rushed to his aid and shifted him to Basudevpur Medical for treatment. Unfortunately, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.


Later, on being informed about the incident, police reached the spot, seized the body, and initiated an investigation into the matter.


The accident has sparked grief among residents, who expressed concern over increasing road mishaps in the area.
