Argus News - Youth Abducted From Bhubaneswar Rescued; Police Arrest Four

Bhubaneswar, Apr 12: A youth who was abducted from the Master Canteen area in Bhubaneswar has been rescued from Jatani Gate area on Sunday.

The abductors had reportedly demanded a ransom of Rs 20 lakh for his release and threatened to kill the victim if the ransom was not paid.

Acting swiftly on the complaint lodged at the Kharavel Nagar police station, police launched an intensive investigation.

Using mobile phone tracking technology, the police traced the victim’s location near Jatani Gate and successfully rescued him.

During the operation, police arrested four accused individuals believed to be directly involved in the kidnapping. The vehicle and mobile phone used in the crime were also seized as evidence.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the abduction was motivated by business rivalry, with the accused attempting to intimidate the victim through threats and extortion. Authorities are continuing their probe to uncover further details and connections behind the crime.

Police have assured that strong action will be taken against those involved in such heinous acts.
