Sonepur, Nov 1: A woman was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by some men while returning from work. The disturbing incident was reported under the jurisdiction of Birmaharajpur police station in Sonepur district.

According to reports, the victim, who works at a Tata Motors service center, was returning home when the accused persons intercepted her near the Hikudi ITI area. When the victim resisted, the accused abducted her to an isolated place and outraged her modesty.

Later, she approached the police and lodged a complaint.

On basis of the complaint, police registered a case and initiated a probe.

Police reportedly have detained two persons for further interrogation into the case.

Local authorities have assured that strict action will be taken based on the findings, and efforts are underway to identify any other individuals involved.
