Bhubaneswar, Nov 1: A low-pressure area is likely to form over the North Andaman Sea and East-Central Bay of Bengal in the next few hours, according to the latest update by the India Meteorological Department.
While the system is expected to have minimal direct impact on Odisha, the remnants of Cyclone Montha, currently active over Bihar, are influencing weather patterns across the state. Under its effect, easterly winds have begun entering Odisha, bringing moisture and instability to the region.
As a result, thunderstorms accompanied by rainfall are expected in most parts of the state today.
Following this, the weather department has issued a forecast for the next 24 hours, predicting moderate to heavy rainfall in the districts of- Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar.

Authorities have advised residents in these areas to remain alert, especially in low-lying regions prone to waterlogging.
Farmers Have also being cautioned to take necessary precautions to protect standing crops from excess moisture.
