Ganjam, Nov 23: Tension gripped Hindala village under Kabisuryanagar police station in Ganjam district after a violent clash broke out between two rival groups, reportedly over political enmity.

According to reports, the confrontation escalated when both groups attacked each other with sharp weapons and other deadly arms.

In the ensuing violence, more than four people from both sides sustained injuries.

Later, police, on being alerted, rushed to the spot and rescued the victims to hospital.

While the injured from one group were admitted to the Kabisuryanagar Community Health Centre, those from the other group were taken to the Asika Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment.

Doctors confirmed that while most injuries were not life-threatening, several victims sustained deep cuts and fractures.

Police forces have since been deployed in Hindala village to prevent further escalation.

Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against those involved in the violence. An investigation is underway to identify the instigators and seize the weapons used in the clash.
