Bhubaneswar, Oct 23: Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal is scheduled to meet Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday at 3:30 pm at Lok Seva Bhawan to discuss a major investment proposal aimed at boosting industrial development in the state.
The meeting follows a formal letter sent by Agarwal to the Chief Minister a few days ago, proposing a massive ₹1.6 lakh crore investment in Odisha. The proposal includes setting up a large-scale aluminium project with an estimated production capacity of 30 lakh tonnes. The ambitious project is expected to be completed within three and a half years.
Agarwal’s plan also includes the development of a downstream
aluminium park, which would further enhance value addition and generate
employment opportunities in the region. The initiative is expected to attract

manufacturing.
