Viksit Odisha / Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to Headline Indian Roads Congress in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Oct 23: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, is set to visit Odisha to participate in the 84th Annual Session of the Indian Roads Congress (IRC), scheduled to be held at Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar, from November 7 to 10.
This prestigious national event will bring together around 2,000 IRC delegates from across India, along with several VVIPs and distinguished personalities.
Odisha has previously hosted five successful IRC sessions in
1954, 1982, 1994, 2005, and 2015. This marks the sixth time the state will
organize the annual session, reinforcing its commitment to infrastructure and
road development.

✨To ensure smooth execution, 18 committees have been formed to manage various aspects of the event. The Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) has identified 900 hotel rooms across Bhubaneswar for out-of-state delegates. Additionally, 150 rooms near the venue have been reserved for VVIPs, dignitaries, and IRC officials.
Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan emphasized the importance of academic contributions to the session. He urged leading scholars, professors, and experts from institutions like IIT Bhubaneswar and NIT Rourkela to submit papers on current road sector initiatives, success stories of road projects, innovative ideas benefiting users, advancements in road safety, and experiences with IRC codes.
The Indian Roads Congress 2025 is expected to be a landmark
event, fostering collaboration between policymakers, engineers, and academics
to shape the future of India’s road infrastructure.
