Bhubaneswar, Jan 3: Dense fog has once again gripped the capital city, prompting the Traffic Control Room to issue an advisory for motorists and commuters.

With visibility dropping sharply across the city, authorities have urged drivers to switch on their headlights and exercise extreme caution while on the roads.

The reduced visibility has slowed vehicular movement, leading to traffic congestion in several areas. Public transport services also faced delays as buses and auto-rickshaws struggled to navigate through the fog.

According to officials, visibility in some parts of Bhubaneswar fell to dangerously low levels, making driving conditions hazardous.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast that foggy conditions are likely to persist for the next two days, particularly during early morning hours. Residents have been advised to plan their travel accordingly and avoid unnecessary journeys during peak fog periods.

Authorities have also requested citizens to maintain safe distances between vehicles and adhere to traffic rules strictly. With the cold wave intensifying, the combination of low temperatures and dense fog is expected to continue disrupting daily life and transport services in the capital.
